Our History 

Oak Valley Piano is a family-owned business with Greg and Cindy Shultz at the helm. Greg has been a piano technician since 1985, graduating with a Piano Technology degree. Cindy works behind the scenes and takes care of all the accounting as well as the rental program and sheet music inventory.

After many years of tuning rental pianos for various piano stores, Greg saw the need to have good quality rentals and decided to start a piano rental business. He began renting pianos in 1996 using his home as a "showroom." In October of 2002 he decided to open his own piano store with more space in upper Yucaipa, California. Shultz Piano remained at this location for over a year-and-a-half before outgrowing the space. It became obvious that a bigger store with better visibility was needed and so Oak Valley Piano was born. 

Oak Valley Piano opened its first location in July 2004 at a 5,760 square foot facility right off the I-10 Freeway in Yucaipa, California. It was complete with a selection of new, used and rebuilt pianos as well as music gifts, accessories, and the Inland Empire's largest selection of print music. The economic downturn in mid-2008 forced us to consider downsizing in order to stay in business.  So in May 2009 we moved to the Redlands Mall.  Since the mall was friendly to musical events and open to having recitals, it seemed to be a perfect fit.

We had many great concerts and recitals at the Redlands Mall and have fond memories from our time at that location.  However, by January 2010 it was obvious that the Mall was losing ground from the loss of a major anchor store.  As a result we were forced to move to another location that was more visible to the public.  After searching for just the right place, we came upon a 3,444 square foot facility that was somewhat visible and in a good location off the I-10 Freeway, just east of Alabama Street in Redlands, California.  On June 1, 2010 Oak Valley Piano officially opened for business at 1235 Indiana Court, Suite #101 in Redlands, California -- approximately 2 miles from our previous location.

At the heart of Oak Valley Piano is our showroom at 1235 Indiana Court, Suite 101 in Redlands, California. Customers can visit our easy-to-find location off the 10 Freeway, just south of Citrus Plaza between Tennessee and Alabama, for a relaxing, stress-free, pleasant shopping experience.

We offer a full range of rebuilding services from replacing soundboards, to restringing and refinishing. Our craftsmen maintain only the highest industry standards. We also offer expert piano moving, tuning, regulating, appraisals, recital space, a temperature-controlled storage facility and teacher referrals.
